Our address:
3354 Little Bear Creek Rd.
Idaho Springs, CO
There are two routes to get to North Star Gatherings: through Idaho Springs via I-70, and through Evergreen via Squaw pass. Whichever route you take, DO NOT TRUST APPLE MAPS or WAZE!!!! Please use Google Maps when routing yourself to the venue, or follow our instructions below.
We strongly recommend driving to the venue through Evergreen to avoid switchbacks, especially if you are nervous driving in the mountains.
Preferred Route: Drive through Evergreen
While Google Maps prefers to route you through Idaho Springs, the route through Evergreen is only about 5-10 minutes longer than through Idaho Springs, but is far prettier, and much easier. It is definitely a beautiful drive, and worth it, because there are no switchbacks! To start:
Head West on 6th Avenue (US 6W). You’ll keep cruising on 6th Avenue until you reach the exit on your right for Grand Junction, I-70 W. Follow signs to stay on I-70 W (you’ll have to merge to the left to get onto I-70. You won’t be on I-70 for long.
Take exit 252 to CO-74 towards Evergreen. Use the middle 2 lanes to turn right onto CO-74, Then, in about 2 miles, turn right onto Squaw Pass Road. When you reach a fork in the road, be sure to keep left, following signs for Little BearCreek Road. Follow the road for 8ish miles and the venue will be on your right! If you start heading downhill, on switchbacks, you have gone too far.
Secondary Route: Driving through Idaho Springs
(be prepared for 12 tight switchbacks!)
Head West on 6th Avenue (US 6W). You’ll keep cruising on 6th Avenue until you reach the exit on your right for Grand Junction, I-70 W. Follow signs to stay on I-70 W (you’ll have to merge to the left to get onto I-70. You’ll take I-70 until Exit 241 to Idaho Springs onto Colorado Blvd. Enter and exit the round about, following Colorado Blvd. Eventually, on your right you’ll see a pretty park, and on your left a little vegetable garden. Turn left after these landmarks onto Miner St. Then, continue down Miner Street, over two speed bumps, and turn left onto Soda Creek Road.
You’ll drive along Soda Creek Road for only a few minutes, past the hot springs, a few houses, and then turn left onto Little Bear Creek Road. This is where the road becomes packed gravel. Now, climb up, up, up, taking your time on the switchbacks. Keep climbing. When all is said and done, you will have gone through 12 switchbacks. Keep an eye out for the venue on your left.
Note: The GPS will occasionally say you have arrived when you’re on the 11th switchback, and you’ll be looking at a rock wall. Don’t be fooled! You still have one switchback to go! The venue is right above you.
